My dear fraternity brother Gary Massimino sent me the news just before Karla did. I have had the pleasure of knowing Jim for over 60 years and cherished his friendship every day. I was fortunate to be invited the the Burns clan for a meal many years ago and it was an Irish bash I won't forget. Jim and i and others while in college frequented Tom Bergin's Irish Coffee house many many times. We were such good patron's we were honored by the restaurant by posting a shamrock on the top of the bar and placed where we normaly sat and consumed many many Irish coffees. In fact at Jim and Margie's engagement party Irish Coffee was served as the most popular beverage even so one of Marge's cats downed a few too many and got drunk!
I was thrilled and excited when years ago Jim and Lorraine invited me to visit them in Albuquerque. . Many of you may not know but their house was in the same neighborhood at Al Unser the famous formula one race driver or maybe it was his brother Al. I had a wonderful weekend with them including a day drive to Santa Fe.
Jim informed me he had moved to Palos Verdes Estates, California and I planned to go visit my sister and brother in Orange County for Christmas 2016 and at the last minute plans fell apart. But with so many wonderful memories of Jim, Lorraine and the Burns clan, he will never ever be forgotten by me.
He was beloved by many and will never be forgotten as I stated above.
Yours in the bond of the Sphinx

I always fondly will remember Jim as a brilliant, kind, supportive, and caring individual. Jim provided so much wise guidance to me over the years when he served as a director of Silicon Valley Bank. I never will forget his support and commitment to our organization and his genuine caring for me. With all my condolences to the family.

Did not personally know James, but as an alumni of both Loyola Marymount University, and the Fraternity he was involved in while he attended there, Delta Sigma Phi, I wanted to pass on my condolences. Rest In Peace, brother.

I will fondly remember our many talks and discussions around Karla's dinner table. Jim was a wealth of knowledge and advice peppered with humor. It was truly a pleasure being with him. I'm glad he is at peace. Sending healing thoughts during this difficult time to all the family and friends that will miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Jim.
