Our Beloved Dad John Richard (Rick) Martinez, 83 of Azusa, California passed away peacefully Thursday, May 18, 2017. He was born in Azusa on May 27, 1933 to his parents Francisco Ortiz Martinez and Frances Lopez. He married his wife Elvira Rodriguez of 61 years.

Rick was a faithful and loyal Catholic. He served our Country in the US Army, 129th Infantry Regiment. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 692.

Rick is survived by his sons, John R. Martinez Jr, Frank R. Martinez; daughters, Sylvia J. Torres and Mary Helen Rivera, blessed with 12 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren. Rick is also survived by his brothers, Raymond, Carlos and Jesse Martinez.

Viewing will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. With recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at White’s Funeral Home, 404 E. Foothill Blvd., Azusa CA.  Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 25, at 9:00 a.m. at ST. FRANCES OF ROME Catholic Church, 501 E. Foothill Boulevard Azusa, CA 91702. “Followed by a Celebration of Life reception at the VFW Post 8070, 250 East First Street, Azusa CA. Burial will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, March Air Reserve Base, CA 92518 on May 30th at 11:00am.
