I had just retired and moved out-of-state. Through another friend, Mike got my email and connected with me a couple of weeks ago in December. He was updating me about his children and Vicki, and how proud he was of them. Our conversions were always positive. Mike found time to listen and cared about what is going on with each family. When I was a trainee, and through out my time at work and away from work, Mike would always find time to be a friend. Once, when he found out we both own a home in Big Bear, he and Vicki met us for breakfast. Mike’s passion and sincerity for those around him were felt. His genuine smiles and heart felt greetings would always come across each time we see him. He was always true to his beliefs on and off the job. He was a special individual. I was looking forward to sharing time in retirement to catch up.
Mike, you are truly a good man and a rare treasure. I know you have found peace and we will again see each other in Heaven. As a Marine, I salute you with respect. As a police officer, it was an honor to shadow your footsteps. As a friend, you will be missed.

Semper Fi,

Peter Hoh

2 Corinthians 5: 6-8

So, we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

My sympathy to Vicky, Billy and family. Have known Mike since I was a kid when he and dad were cops together. Always a treat when Mike would visit. Always so kind, hugs were the best, always greated with that gorgeous smile and twinkle in his eye. Will miss you my friend. Keep Lyle company until we are all together again.

After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we've shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. Our condolences to you Vicki and the family. I will always remember the breakfasts with Mike, Mark, and Shawn and will never forget Mike's firm handshake. Love, Jim & Eleanor Beechin

Please accept my deepest condolence for the loss of your dear Husband Mike. I know first hand how difficult it is to cope so I pray that you gain comfort from loving memories, photos and my favorite scripture because it mentions how pain and death will be done away with - Revelation chapter 21 verse 4. Believing this gives me something to look forward to and I hope it helps you too.

Vicki, I want to you know how special Mike was to us. He always made us feel like we were the only people in the room. I loved how he would always say "take care of each other". I loved how he always called you his Bride! He always gave me his nice big warm hug, with the beautiful smile. We will truly miss him. We have had a lot of fun times together for sure! Until we meet again my friend!

Vicki, I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a wonderful man who touched so many people’s lives and helped so many children during his career that it would be impossible to count. I am sure that wherever he is right now, he is telling everyone about his loving wife that he had to leave behind and is excited and looking forward to the day he gets to hold you again. Keep your faith in God as he is always walking at our side to pick us up when we fall. My prayers are with you and your family...Bob

I was fortunate to have spent many days flying, sailing, driving, and traveling by train with Mike and Vicky throughout the years. From Hawaii, Maui, Kaual, Oahu, Massachusetts, Maine, Nova Scotia, Florida, Rhode Island, Canada, Hearst Castle, Reagan Library, Colombia, Aruba, Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, San Diego, Redondo Beach, Laguna Beach, and a lot more.

Life is short, enjoy what you want to do, and remember, give your loved ones a hug since you'll never know when that candle will be blown out!
