Ernestine Macias Fierro, age 100½, of Azusa, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 8, 1925, in Los Angeles, Ernestine dedicated her life to her family and those she loved. She was known for her legendary Sunday roast beef dinners and had a passion for cooking, always finding joy in preparing meals for family and friends. Her kitchen was a gathering place, and her warmth, generosity, and love made her the heart of the family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend whose presence touched countless lives.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elias S. Fierro of Azusa; her son, Elias J. Fierro of Apple Valley; her daughter, Kathy Bean of Gainesville; her parents; four brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by her children: Carmen Fierro of Stafford, Virginia, Linda Dubin of Yucaipa, Ruben Fierro of Azusa, Betty Peeler of Covina, and Richard Fierro of Tehachapi.
She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild, all of whom will carry her memory and legacy forward. Ernestine's life was a testament to love, family, faith, and perseverance. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery.
