In Loving Memory of Dad

Herman Peter Hommerson at 91 years old, passed away on January 9, 2022 at the Veterans Loma Linda Hospital in California.

Born on January 3, 1931 to Peter & Helena Hommerson in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He married Patsy Ann Powell on August 12, 1950 in Monrovia, California.

Surviving family are, wife Patsy Hommerson, daughter Cindy Cocherell & husband John, son Randy Hommerson & wife Sandy, daughter-in-law Debbie Hommerson, Scott Cocherell & wife Athena, Seana Gonzalez & husband Henry, grandchildren, Brett Hommerson & wife Jeanette, Crystal Carroll & husband Jack, Scott Hommerson, Randall Hommerson & wife Kristina, Tina Hommerson, Christopher Hommerson, There are 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Herman Hommerson Jr., parents, Peter & Helena Hommerson, sister, Denee, sister-in-laws, Jera Lyn, and Barbara, brother-in-laws, Ralph, Kenny and John.

He had served in the army during the Korean war and attained the rank of Master Sergeant as a forward observer. Most of his life he went by the nick name of “Sarge”.

His Hobbies were racing cars at Pomona Raceway with his wife and he even brought home trophies. Dad loved camping and every chance he got he took us camping. He made sure we went for ice cream every Sunday and his favorite ice cream was Butter Pecan. He loves amusement parks. He also owned his own plane and loved flying.

He has a successful business for many years which he called Bar Sar Inc.

He taught us how to earn money by doing jobs around the house when we were young. Dad built mini-bikes and go-carts that we rode as young children. He was the best dad a child could have.

After the funeral service, please come to our home for a time together and refreshments.
