Tribute

RAMIREZ,  Marcelino Murillo aka “Mar” or “Chilingas” Ramirez, 93 years, 8 months and 25 days young. He was born June 2, 1924 and was a life-long resident of the City of Azusa, CA. He went to his eternal home to be with his Savior and LORD Jesus Christ on February 27, 2018. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 52 years Mary Patricia “Pat” Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez leaves behind 6 children: Sally Jean Navarro, Edward Ramirez, Daniel Ramirez, Linda Rojas, Lisa Fusco, and Nancy Kochert.  12 Grandchildren: Natalie Navarro, Michael Rojas (Amanda), Justin Ramirez (Barbie), Daniel Rojas,  Julie Navarro, Kyle Ramirez (Victoria), Laura Navarro, Christina Rojas, Artie Navarro, Patrick Rojas, Isabella Fusco and Jannette Tafoya (Derek). 7 Great- Grandchildren: Eric Pasillas, Sadie Ramirez, Rocco Ramirez, Leonidus Ramirez, Corbin Ramirez, Harley Rojas, Alanna Edwards, (and #8 baby Tafoya arriving in May). Sons and daughter-in-laws: Art Navarro, Wendy Ramirez, Grace Ramirez, Mike Rojas and Jeff Kochert. He is now survived by two sisters: Jenny Armenta and Molly Ramirez (Mike). Mar has relatives in Ensenada, Mexico. The Avila, Meza and Tavarez Families. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends including Mathew Collins and John Grigolla. His godchildren: David Castaneda- Azusa, CA, Maria Bowers and Patty Banuelos-Wichita KS, Jackie Bowers- San Antonio, TX, Lisa Guerrero Kirkpatrick-Little Rock, AR, and Natalie Means-Miller, Memphis, TN.

Mar had two professions in his life time: 30 years in the U.S. Civil Service as a crane operator retrieving torpedo experimentation in Long Beach, San Clemente Island and Morris Dam above Azusa.  After an early retirement with the government Mar became an employee of Miller’s Brewery when they moved their operations from Azusa to Irwindale. He worked there for 26 years and never missed one day of work. He was acknowledged for Perfect Attendance and received a Special and Outstanding Award for his dedication which was admired by his family. He retired at 77 years young. He spent his last years being OUR loving and caring Patriarch. Dad you did it ALL! Thank you so much, To God Be The Glory!
