Michael Joseph Brizuela

Michael Joseph Brizuela (Mike) was a kind hearted spirit. He was a service oriented man, always giving of himself and gave of himself to the very end. He served in the Marine Reserves, was a nurse, and continued to better himself on a daily basis. He pursued new career opportunities and broadened his education and friendship base when he enrolled at LA Trade Tech in his later life. He was serving as a security gaurd in his most recent job, alwasy thinking of others and how he could keep them safe.

Michael was hit by a car while walking home from work in the early morning hours on Friday, May 4th. Upon being rushed to Pomona Valley Hospital, his family was informed that his injuries were too severe to survive. While in intensive care, it was discovered that Michael was an organ donor. On Monday, May 7th, he took his last early breaths in the presence of his mom and sister. Then he offered his organs and body to save others' lives and further the field of medical science.

He was kind and loving and reliable and always willing to lend a helping hand. He knew when to be serious and when to be goofy. He always had a smile, an open ear, an arm draped around your shoulder. His sudden and shocking departure from our lives stings sorely.

We love you Michael, and will always remember your deep joy and love of life and sports. We will remember how you never gave up, how hard working and persistent you were. We will remember your love of family and dedication to your country.

He will live on in our hearts and in the lives of those whom his gracious donation of his organs went to help. Michael is survived by his mom (Patricia Brizuela), his father (Joe Brizuela), sisters (Kathleen, Teresa, Margaret, Julie and Becky) three children and 10 nieces and nephews.
