Robert J. Anderson

Robert J. Anderson, 74, recently of Covina, died on Saturday, February 8, 2020, after a brief illness.  Bob, as he was known, was born in Lynn, MA on March 28, 1945, the son of the late Charles R. and Mary Rose (McLarnon) Anderson.  He had resided in Azusa for 4 years, formerly living in San Gabriel and Temple City.  Bob graduated in 1962 from Lynn English High School in Lynn, MA, and was a proud graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.  He was employed in the business office of the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services for over 30 years.  Bob was an avid sports fan and actively followed the Boston Celtics, the Boston Red Sox, the UCLA Bruins, and the NFL’s Raiders, no matter their location.  He enjoyed the Tuesday movies with friends for many years and was very proud of his Irish heritage and his Catholic faith. 

He is survived by one son, William Anderson of Spokane, WA, one granddaughter, his sister, Rosalie J. Anderson, of Revere, MA, and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann (Chavez) Anderson, by his sisters, Rita M. (nee Anderson) Weeks and Patricia J. Anderson, by his brothers, Bernard C. Anderson, and E. Paul Anderson, as well as his step-mother Mary E. (Jordan) Anderson and step-sister, Jean Besancon.  He was a friend of Bill W. 

A Memorial Mass will be Friday, March 13 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Frances of Rome Church, 501 E. Foothill Blvd, Azusa.  Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Rosemead.  A Memorial Mass will also be celebrated in mid-March 2020 at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, MA.
